Alan became a Stockport Grammar School pupil in 1939 and he loved everything about his time here. He was a natural sportsman and played on many school teams during his time at SGS. His musical abilities were amply catered for and his academic achievements, nurtured by the School, led him on to the Dental Department of Manchester University.
It was a pleasure to see Alan return to the School on many occasions over the years where he attended a number of Alumni events, most notably our annual Remembrance Day Service and Reunion. He was also part of the Old Stopfordians' Association Golf Society.
Alan sadly passed away on 19th October 2023 and we extend our thoughts to his family at this difficult time.
