We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Old Stop Emily Howling back in to school where current pupils were privileged to receive a “Spotlight On” talk about her life and career to date. Emily recalled how her love for science was nurtured whilst at school, not only by her teachers, but by her family who actively encouraged her enjoyment of the subject.
Emily is currently in the second year of her DPhil in Particle Physics from the University of Oxford and carries out her research at CERN in Switzerland – home of the Hadron Collider.
We thank Emily for her generous time and words of encouragement which we are sure resonated with those pupils who attended her talk. Look out for more information about Emily and the work she is involved with in the next edition of Old Stops’ Review.
