In Memory |
Angela (Angie) Mycock (OS 1992), passed away on Monday 11 November 2024. She was an amazing woman, with huge energy, passion, warmth and a great sense of humour.
Angie really loved her time at SGS and made some life-long relationships. Tennis was her passion and she won the Cheshire County Championships at all age groups and was the youngest person to represent the county team. She was also a top nationally-ranked player competing every year at the National Hard Court Tournament.
After SGS, Angie got a Tennis scholarship to Denver University, and was MVP in her first year.
Angie had a successful career in PR, and worked in the USA for four years for the Home for Little Wanderers. She returned to the UK in 2007 and became Media Relations Officer for the British Red Cross, working on the award-winning National Refugee Week. Angie also worked for Selfridges, City College Manchester, Advanced Ltd, and Bott & Co law firm.
Angie began an eight-year battle with cancer in 2016. Facing three major operations, she never lost her passion and spirit for life, and was an inspiration to many.
She found poetry as an outlet and became an accomplished writer of more than 100 poems, which are due to be produced into a book.
If you would like to make a gift in her memory, Angie's loved ones have requested for donations to go to St Ann's Hospice. St Ann's Hospice gave Angie a safe and loving end to her life.
