We are very sad to share that we have recently been informed of the passing of Old Stopfordian, Charles Gordon Assioun (OS 1956), aged 86 years. Gordon, as he was known to friends and family, died suddenly at home in Davenham on 29th May, 2024.
We are aware that some of you may have fond memories of Gordon from school days and may even have shared the tennis court or lacrosse pitch with him.
His family have kindly shared funeral details with us (see below) and you are very welcome to attend to pay your respects:
Date & Time: Monday 17th June at 14:00
Address: The Birches Crematorium and Remembrance Park, Birches Lane, Cheshire, CW9 7SU.
Celebration of Life: The funeral service will be followed by a celebration of life at The Golden Pheasant Plumley, Moor Road, Plumley, Knutsford WA16 9RX.
The family have specified no black is to be worn and to dress for comfort and with colour to brighten the day.
For those that cannot attend the funeral but would like to view the service, there is a weblink which will be streaming live on the day and will be available to watch up to 28 days after the funeral. Details as follows:
