Congratulations to Old Stopfordian Holly Hunt (OS 2015) who has been selected to train full time with the Senior Women's England and Great Britain Hockey squad.
Whilst attending Stockport Grammar School Holly was selected for England at U16, U18 and U21 level and since leaving she has played in the Development squad.
Holly’s medals and achievements include: U18 European Bronze Medal 2015, 2 x U21 European Bronze Medals 2014/2017, National School Champions 2015, National Indoor Champions 2015 and European Championships.
Sharon Withington, Head of Hockey at SGS, reflected; “Holly was an outstanding and very influential player whilst at Stockport Grammar School. She was selected for the First XI whilst still in the Under 14s. She was three times a National Finalist and scored several of the goals when we were crowned champions. Whilst at Stockport Grammar School she played her club hockey for the National League side, Bowdon Hightown, and was awarded the Young Player of the Year Award by the Hockey sportswriters’ panel.
