On 18 September, we were delighted to welcome back members of the Class of 1976, for a special reunion lunch in the Governors' Room.
The group enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with former classmates and reminisce about their school days over lunch. During their visit, they met with the Head, Sarah Capewell, and were also introduced to the current Heads and Deputy Heads of School, providing a fascinating opportunity to compare school life across the generations.
A highlight of the afternoon was a tour of the School, which gave alumni the chance to see how SGS has evolved since their time as pupils. The visit also included the opportunity to interact with items from the School Archives. Members of the group were particularly interested to see original records relating to their years at Stockport Grammar School, including copies of their A Level results, rugby team sheets and scores, and the registration book, that dates back to the 1800s, containing their names and details of when they first joined the School.
The reunion prompted many happy memories and lively conversations, as former pupils reflected on their time here at School!
