On Tuesday 11 November, we welcomed back 70 Old Stopfordians, dignitaries, and their guests to our Remembrance Day Service and Lunch.
Our annual Remembrance commemorations provide an opportunity to remember the members of our school community who lost their lives during both World Wars, and subsequent conflicts. Several of the schools musicians supported the service including Deputy Head, Sophia Horne (Class of 2026), who played the Last Post at the Middle School Assembly and then represented the school beautifully at Stepping Hill Hospital’s service of Remembrance.
Following the service, Old Stops were invited to lunch, where they were treated to performances by Dan Wood on flute and vocal performances from Emily Knight and Abigail Sullivan as well as a talk about the recent third year trip to the battlefields of Europe.
Thank you to all the Old Stops who joined us to remember members of our community from the past, and to re-connect on this important occasion.
