A huge thank you to former pupil, Faye Sanders (OS 2019), who kindly returned to school recently to give a Spotlight On talk to current pupils about her journey to a PhD and the research opportunities available at universities.
Upon leaving SGS, Faye completed a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Bath and during her time also became a Research Assistant; this role led to her managing to secure a research placement abroad in Sweden where she was Guest Researcher at the Institute for Housing and Urban Research, investigating associations between green space and mental health.
Faye is now studying for her PhD which is focused on building healthy cities and exploring connections between the built environment, travel choices and health. Alongside her PhD, Faye remains committed to research which often sees her travelling to conferences around the world to present and she also provides advice to the UK Government on housing, health, transport and infrastructure.
It was wonderful to welcome Faye back in to school and we were so grateful for her time and insights!
