Stockport Grammar School was filled with laughter and nostalgia last night as 50 alumni from the Class of 2025 returned for a festive gathering. The Governors' Room was decked out to give our newest cohort of Old Stops the chance to reconnect with friends and former teachers over festive drinks and seasonal treats. Amongst them was the Head Sarah Capewell, Old Stopfordian President Arian Nikkhah, Heather Fenton, George Cope, Josh Talbot, Heather Ashton, Richard Davies and Richard Heyes to name a few.
The evening featured warm conversations, holiday music, and plenty of reminiscing about shared memories of time spent at Stockport Grammar School. Many attendees expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to revisit the place where they spent their formative years.
The festivities then moved to the stunning St George's Church for the annual Senior School Carol Service. More than 70 Old Stops, Governors and their guests joined the Class of 2025 as the evening featured readings from our pupils and performances from our talented choirs. Reverend Liz Leaver led the congregation for the last time at Stockport Grammar, as she moves to Norwich Cathedral in 2026 after 26 years with the school.
