Sixth Form student Grace Lorimer is looking forward to her trip to Spain after being chosen as the winner of this year’s Albert Johnston Travel Award.
Already interested in Art History, Grace centred her presentation around the Valencia region in Spain, and focused on three influential artists: Joaquín Sorolla, Ignacio Pinazo Camarlench and Alberto Pla y Rubio.
This year’s judging panel was the Bursar Joanne Clague, Head of Sixth Form David Stone, former governor Chris Muscutt, former archivist Stuart Helm (OS 1964), Old Stopfordians Chris Watson (OS 1974) and Oliver Hopwood (OS 2003), and award organiser and Psychology Teacher Hannah Larkin.
Mrs Larkin said: “The pupil's proposals were incredibly strong this year and the panel was “blown away” with the level of detail that had gone into planning the trips and the pupil's confidence when asked challenging questions about their planned itinerary. I am sure that Grace will have a fabulous time and that the experience will be beneficial to her undergraduate university studies.”
Well done to Grace, and good luck with your travels.
