There are many unsung heroes that help keep a school like SGS up and running, none more so than the IT department.
As part of the School's ongoing commitment to teaching and learning, the IT department have been upgrading many of the digital resources to make sure pupils have access to the latest technology. This includes:
Head of Digital Services, Mr Jonathon Quinn, noted: “The introduction of digital panels in all of our classrooms provides enhanced engagement with pupils, without the need for ongoing maintenance that the traditional board/projector combinations required.
“The move across to devices for all our teaching staff will allow them to seamlessly 'dock' their device in any classroom or office space and jump straight into valuable teaching or admin time.
“Not to be ignored is the eco benefit of these changes, with many PCs and projectors being replaced by lower-power consumption devices.
“I am incredibly proud of the IT team, who have worked extremely hard over the course of this year to facilitate some major changes to technology provision within the school.”
Many thanks to Jonathon and the whole IT team for all of their hard work.
