In celebration of Manchester City FCs Premier League win on Sunday, Former Head Boy Dr. Jon Bell (OS 1997) was honoured to carry the Premier League Trophy in memory of his father Colin Bell MBE, one of the finest Manchester City players of all time.
The footballing legend Colin Bell MBE sadly passed away in January 2021.
Ahead of the event, Jon said: “There are so many people who would be worthy of walking the Premier League trophy out, particularly this year, but it’s a beautiful gesture from the Club to invite me to be part of it.
"It captures the family atmosphere that exists at City, they are very in touch with their supporters and I think this will be something they will appreciate.
"It’s something for them and something for dad.”
Jon is a Consultant Radiologist at The Christie Hospital in Manchester and was inspired into medicine after spending time watching the club physiotheraphy teams treating players, including his father who had an injury towards the end of his career.
