Old Stopfordian Ali Chughtai (OS 2019), 22, joins Neston from fellow Cheshire County Cricket League side Widnes.

The Manchester-born left-hander scored over 1,000 runs for Widnes last season despite the side’s Premier League relegation.

He scored five 50s and a century, averaging 32.28 with the bat.

The former Stockport Grammar pupil, who has also played for Monton, was one of Lancashire’s Academy intake for 2019 and played for Cheshire last season.

Congratulations Ali!
