Old Stopfordian Andrew Richardson (OS 1982) is a tram driver with Metrolink and is heavily involved with activities and committees in the Tameside area, including running the Hyde Past & Present Facebook group, which has been going for over seven years and has amassed over 31.5k members.
Andrew tells us:
"I'm very active in my local community running a large Facebook group for Hyde (and some smaller groups). I help organise events and also compere them. This year Hyde Mela in the park attracted 6,000 visitors. Hyde Christmas lights switch on over 500.
I've also done a regular column in the free About Tameside magazine for several years and presented on Amazing Ashton Awards for their recent event. I regularly contribute to the Tameside Reporter newspaper and do outside broadcast interviews for Tameside Radio. I'm a Trustee on Hyde War Memorial Trust, a member of the Hyde Together (Town Team) and a POP management member community hub."
We're excited to see what's next for Andrew.
