PhD Sea Mammal Research student Julia Sutherland's (OS 2012) research on killer whales around Scotland was recently featured in a short-film during BBC Autumnwatch.

Julia attended Stockport Grammar School between 2007 and 2012 and, after completing her degree and spending time working in Marine Biology, Julia is now a PhD student at the University of St Andrews. As part of this programme Julia is conducting research at the Sea Mammal Research Unit, alongside the Scottish Oceans Institute, and is currently completing fieldwork in Shetland.
