As soon as your child joins Stockport Grammar School, you and your family automatically become members of the Stopfordian Parents Association (SPA). Our association exists to enrich the lives of our children while studying at Stockport Grammar School – from Pre-Reception to Upper VI.
We do this by;
· Promoting a School Community for our pupils, parents, staff and Governors outside normal educational activities.
· Enhancing our children’s experiences while at school over and above what the day-to-day curriculum provides for.
· Raising funds to enable us to provide activities, equipment and facilities for the children over and above those that the school should and does provide. We are passionate that these goals should be complementary.
For example, fundraising activities with a strong School Community will enhance pupils’ experiences and education much more than fundraising alone. We also have a thriving class representative system in the Junior School, welcoming new parents and organising informal events for year group families and friends. The Class Reps also represent parents at the termly headteacher/parent meetings where school related topics are discussed with the headteacher and school bursar.
