This month we welcomed pupils from Fourth and Fifth Year - as well as Lower Sixth Form - along with their parents to the Careers Convention 2025.
This biennial event that saw 500+ visitors fill the Dining Hall, with the opportunity to ask careers mentors anything about their chosen vocation. There was a real buzz in the Hall as pupils chatted to alumni, parents and business contacts of the school about a variety of careers.
There were representatives from a wide range of industries including law, architecture, engineering, science, consultancy, PR and 16 different universities. Visitors could also attend presentations on Medicine and Psychology as well as a talk on Business, Marketing and Finance.
One of the Old Stops that kindly volunteered their time to appear as a mentor at the event was Harvey Taylor (OS 2011). When asked the event about his own career journey, he said: "I didn't know that my job existed when I was at school [I work in the Sports Marketing industry]. I'm extremely passionate about it and it is so interesting to meet so many students that can hopefully fill my shoes in the years to come."
