One of the highlights of the Old Stops' calendar is back for 2026: the Summer Reunion BBQ. Join us as we watch Old Stops vs Cavaliers Cricket for the last time in the old pavilion! Our beloved Catering Manager will also be retiring at the end of this academic year. Help us say goodbye to the pavilion and to Kathy Gosling.
Here's what you need to know:

Where: Stockport Grammar School, Buxton Road, Stockport, SK2 7AF
Who can come: All Old Stopfordians, their family and friends.
Dress code: There's no dress code, but this is the British Summer Time, so be prepared for all weather!
What's on?: There's bouncy castles, lawn games, ice creams, photo collections from our school archives, and did we mention the FREE welcome drink and BBQ for everyone?
Tickets: It's FREE to attend - all we ask is to register you and your guests via the button above.
Is it a special reunion year for you?
The event is open to all Old Stops from all years, but we would be delighted to see as many alumni from the following years: 1976, 1986, 1996, 2006, 2016, and 2026. So why not get in touch with your old school friends and use the Summer BBQ as your place to meet this year?
Say goodbye to staff leavers
We will be saying a fond farewell to a number of staff who are leaving SGS or retiring including Kathy Gosling our Catering Manager for the past 38 years. Make sure that you book your ticket so that you can wish them well!
Say goodbye to the Sports Pavilion!
The new pavilion, with completion scheduled for the Autumn Term 2027, will provide opportunities for all pupils to participate in sport, develop confidence, and contribute to a strong sense of community, while supporting performance and aspiration. For more than six decades, the current pavilion has served as the cornerstone of our school life - hosting matches, events, and community gatherings. It is now time to begin a new chapter, reflecting our commitment to improvement and excellence, ensuring facilities match the ambition and talent of our pupils today and in the future.
